Mt. Hope Camp Inc. is a women and children's ministry/program nestled in the wooded hills of Oxford, New Jersey. Beautiful
green surroundings of forty acres give Mt. Hope the sense of God's sovereignty and His peace.
Mt. Hope is a place where Jesus Christ has the preeminence by His Holy Spirit. Women
or women and their children arrive at this place in order to gain an intimate relationship with Him. In this place, the women
learn about God, His voice, and His will for their lives. This is accomplished through personal devotional times (first thing
in the morning), chapel services, prayer meetings, Bible classes, church services, and spiritual counseling (as needed). The
Lord quickly reveals His love and devotion to the women and immediately begins to do a work of consolation in their heart;
thus, trust in Him begins and transformation occurs. Through their new found relationship with Christ, women learn how
to retain this relationship and how to live above their emotions, pains, disappointments, and discouragements due to dysfunctional
circumstances (i.e. rejection, neglect or abandonment) that they have been subjected to in their lives. They now begin to
realize that Jesus not only forgives but He actually has a plan for their lives.
The women who have children with them
in turn begin to teach their children that they too can have a relationship with Jesus. In addition, there is home schooling
for their children in which they not only learn academics but God's principles as well. The children have a structured day
of activities which begins with devotions and the pledge of allegiance followed by academics, art, music, and gym.
There are also occasional field trips. At the camp, the children enjoy bicycling, rollerblading, and other fun games
and activities.
In the summer months outside activities
may be available in the community i.e. softball, soccer, swimming, and visits to the park and hiking. There are weekly picnics
with swimming, a camping trip, and shopping in the summer.
The women at the end of 18 months
of structure are then offered a pre re-entry phase where more time is needed before going out to the community to work or
go to school. A re-entry phase follows where they may go to school (community college is available) or work. Work may
be available at the camp, and some choose to volunteer their time.
